In the Celebration of the Birth Anniversary of Imam Hasan Al-Mujtaba (AS), Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim Voices Concern Over Inconsistent Information Regarding the Escape of Prisoners from Abu Ghraib

Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim voiced concern over the conflicting information regarding the terrorist attack that occurred last Sunday and that resulted in the escape of hundreds of detainees affiliated to the terrorist organization of Al Qaeda from Abu Ghraib Prison. His Eminence said in his speech given in the celebration of the birth anniversary of Imam Hasan Al-Mujtaba (AS) held at his eminence’s office in Baghdad on Tuesday, 23/7/2013: We still don’t know the number of prisoners who escaped, nor the numbers of victims and martyrs from the governmental security bodies. The Head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq called for taking preemptive measures to limit the terrorist attacks that have alarmingly increased during the last days and weeks, for the avoiding inaction while waiting the attacks waged by suicide bombers and murderers. His Eminence criticized the silence and lack of responsibility from the part of security and military leaderships, and the lack of explanation and justification that could calm the citizens’ worries. He also expressed how surprised he is from the officials’ inaction, and from the falsehood of terrorists and how officials are not making efforts to reach the truth and make security achievements in the short and long terms.
He compared what is happening to the sermon of Amir al-Mu'mineen Ali (AS) in his Nahj Al-Balagha when he addresses the army of Al Kufa and says: “You have become the target at which arrows are shot. You are being killed and you do not kill. You are being attacked but you do not attack. Allah is being disobeyed and you remain agreeable to it.”
