Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim welcomed the step made the Citizen Bloc MPs who waived their pensions, considering it as noble position which shows the sense of responsibility they have. This came during the 14th Ramadan night event held on Saturday, 27/7/2013, in his Eminence's office in Baghdad. He said the retirement of MPs, ministers and elected provincial council members is an awkward phenomenon that is unfamiliar in the world countries or the neighboring countries. He also hoped that the Council of Ministers put the matter to vote and then submit a draft law about it to the Parliament in order to pass it. According to him, this would convey a modest and credible message for all the Iraqi citizens that the official you have trusted and elected reflects your conscience and your will. Moreover, his Eminence called on the citizens to encourage all the other parties, particularly those to whom they voted and trusted to adopt a similar position.
In reference to the death anniversary of the Leader of the Faithful Ali Bin Abi Taleb (S) which coincides with Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power), he said the divine project on the earth and the message project are embodied in Ali (AS) because the latter represents a nation, not himself. "Since Ali represents a project, we understand why the Prophet (PBUH) said about him, 'Ali is with the right, and the right is with Ali'", he added. Finally, he noted that we all should be with the right and adopt it as a criterion in our movement and credibility because Ali is the criterion of the right credibility.
