During the 17th Ramadan Night Event, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Calls on the Ministers, the MPs, the Three Presidencies and the Provincial Council Members to Give Up their Pensions

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, thanked Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr and the members of Al Ahrar Movement who, similarly to their fellows in the Muwaten Bloc, showed their willingness to cede their pensions, hoping that other parliamentary blocs take the same decision, which contributes to a suitable environment for acting this law which hinders such unfair pensions.
This came during the 17th Ramadan night event held in his Eminence’s office in Baghdad Tuesday, July 30, 2013.
Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim also appreciated the support of the Muwaten Bloc in Baghdad provincial council for such decision, and its willingness to cede the pensions, hoping that the Muwaten Bloc follows the lead in all the provincial councils. His Eminence stressed the necessity of passing the law with retroactive effect so as to include all the pensions of the work teams which have served for the past ten years, calling on the ministers, the MPs and the three presidencies, whether incumbent or not, as well as the consultants and the provincial council members to give up their pensions.
