Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim Calls for Adopting the Election Law and Holding Elections on Time

The Head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, insisted on the importance of elections in the new Iraq, calling to adopt the election law and hold elections on time and prompting members of the Martyr of the Niche Movement (Shaheed Al Mihrab) to communicate with people, listen to their problems and help them find adequate solutions. This came during the extended Shura Meeting for the Movement of the Martyr of the Niche held in His Eminence’s office in Baghdad, on Monday 19/8/2013.
His Eminence considered during the meeting that the recent security setbacks are the result of lingering on the Iraqi political arena, calling members of the Martyr of the Niche movement to let the public interest rise above their personal interests and clarifying that the attack on the movement is caused by its power and strong presence in Iraq. His Eminence expressed again his refusal of the insults targeting the religious authority, the latter being the safety valve of Iraq.
