Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the need for unity of all Iraqis and to reinforce the national harmony and stay away from sectarianism, stating that the participation of everybody in reinforcing such harmony will enable Iraq from overcoming the crisis it is facing.
 
This came during his Eminence’s meeting in his office in Baghdad, Seikh Abdul Karim Al Khazraji, director of the Sunni Endowment in the South Region and a number of the council members of Basra province and some of its representatives. For his part, Al Khazraji appraised the supportive positions of Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim to provinces and his launch and support of “Basra, the Economic Capital of Iraq” initiative. He also pointed out during a press conference held after his meeting with Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim to the well-defined vision of Sayyid and his continuous optimism that Iraq will someday live in security. Also during the meeting, the representative Sheikh Amer Al Fayez maintained that the agreement of all Basra citizens on proceeding with the “Basra, the Economic Capital of Iraq” project, explaining that Basra province representatives will work on supporting the law in order to be passed during the next stage.
