In His Meeting with a Group of Iraqi Intellectuals, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim Emphasizes the Role of Intellectuals in Solving Problems and Moving Iraq Forward

Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim stressed the need to benefit from intellectuals and skilled citizens to solve many of the problems that Iraq is currently facing, explaining that engaging these categories in the country’s development is the right step to achieve success and sustainability.
This came during a meeting held by the Head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, in his office in Baghdad, with a group of Iraqi intellectuals and elites, on Saturday, 28/9/2013.
His Eminence indicated that Iraq is suffering from a number of problems hindering its development and growth, adding that these problems and obstacles are mainly related to the lack of maturity of politicians and to the deficient vision which in turn leads to the absence of strategic planning. His Eminence also stated that the loss of priorities, the improper distribution of roles and the misplacement of certain persons are also obstacles to the development and reconstruction of Iraq.
His Eminence stressed that the solution to the problems and challenges Iraq is facing would be to have a political majority that goes beyond individual components, a harmonized team, a unified and clear vision and successful administration. He also underlined the need for an administrative revolution through the use of scientific methods in running the country in different fields, highlighting the importance of giving attention to the youth and intellectuals and providing them with real opportunities to move forward.
In the end, the President of the Union of Writers of Iraq, Mr. Fadel Thamer, offered the Union’s shield to Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, as a gesture of appreciation of the interest and care His Eminence is giving to intellectuals and to the education sector in the country.
