    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Meets with the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council


    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, met Monday, 7/10/2013 in Tehran, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Mr. Ali Shamkhani, where both sides discussed the relations between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as other issues of common interest.
    During the meeting, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim congratulated Mr. Shamkhani for his new office, hoping for developed cooperation between both countries in different fields for the best interest of both brother peoples. He also said that the favorable environments in the region help more than any time in history maintain security and stability in the region and the world. 
    For his part, Mr. Shamkhani denounced the terrorist attacks targeting the Iraqi people, explaining that such acts constitute a global danger to the world peace and security. He also confirmed the care of the Islamic Republic of Iran for establishing wider  relations with Iraq in different domains, particularly the economic and cultural ones.
