    In his Message in the Sacred Lands, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Calls for Opening a New Page in the Relations with Iraq


    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, called on the countries of the region to open a new page in the relations with Iraq, and to stop the provocative acts launched from their territories against Iraq whether through political, financial, media or organizational support, explaining that according to the Iraqi constitution, Iraq must not be used as ground to commit aggressive acts against the other countries, urging the countries of the region to undertake not perpetrate any aggressive acts against Iraq.
    This came in the message addressed Wednesday, 9/10/2013 by Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim in the Sacred Lands in the occasion of the pilgrimage.
    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim also called for active participation in elections, since they are the evident way to achieve the ambitions of building Iraq and ensuring its progress, warning against abstaining from holding the elections since this establishes mistakes and setback. In addition, he stated that elections allow for a government representing the Iraqi people's will, providing it with services and achieving its interests. To him, that’s what the citizen's state means. He also stressed the determination to work and cooperate with the other political movements and the generous social society organizations to maintain peace, security and prosperity, provide job opportunities and make Iraq redeem its natural position among the states.
    Moreover, his Eminence called for rejecting and opposing all calls for sectarian discrimination and denouncing all forms of violence, terrorism, takfir and identity-based mass murder. He said that the initiatives and efforts made to achieve peace, security and stability in the country will continue, underlining the necessity that everybody gets all his due rights as national and human merit and urging all Iraqis to consider the peaceful coexistence as the main pillar to build Iraq and ensure its stability and progress.
