    In his Meeting with al-Maliki, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Stresses the Need to Support the Armed Forces and to Held Elections on Time


    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the need to support the armed forces in their war against the terrorist organizations, calling for propping up the Anbar tribes in their support of the security forces in face of Daesh, pointing to the need of holding the elections on time since they are the basis of democracy. This came during a meeting held between his Eminence in his office in Baghdad on Thursday, January 9, 2014, and the Prime Minister Mr. Nouri al-Maliki.
     
    His Eminence discussed with al-Maliki the developments of situations in Iraq and the current military operations in Anbar, renewing his support, and underlining the necessity of engaging in the political dialogue and mastering national efforts against terrorism which targets everyone.
