    Calling to Give Attention to Sports and Develop Infrastructure, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim Stresses the Need to Find Comprehensive Solutions for the Crisis in Anbar


    The Head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, stressed the need to find comprehensive solutions for the Anbar crisis, indicating that a political solution is not enough, neither is the military solution. He explained that “Our Resisting Anbar” initiative has provided comprehensive developmental, political, military, economic and service-related solutions, calling the Iraqi people to take their electronic voting card and participate in the elections to prove to the world the scale of awareness Iraqis have.
    This came during the 5th world conference for the Aziz Al Iraq (May Allah sanctify his soul) football championship, held in his eminence’s office in Baghdad on Thursday, February 6, 2014.
    His Eminence pointed out that sports maintain good health and energy and generate the spirit of collaboration, solidarity, complementarity, role distribution, reliance on the competent. He indicated that sports mean ethics and that they have become a science with specific fundamentals, calling to give attention to the popular teams. His Eminence considered sports as a way to build community, stressing the Iraqi sports’ need for a strategic vision and strict policies based on clear plans, laws and programs. He clarified that the Martyr of the Niche Movement is providing a clear vision on the issue of sports, calling to support sports for females, for persons with disabilities and for different age categories, to develop the coaching and refereeing cadres and sports medicine, and to establish infrastructure for popular teams.
