    Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim Receives Egyptian Ambassador to Iraq


    The Head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, received in his office in Baghdad on Sunday, March 2, 2014, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Iraq, His Excellency Ahmad Hussein Darwish. His Eminence wished success to the Egyptian ambassador in his mission and hoped that the common interests of the two friend countries will be strengthened. He stressed that the pressures that Egypt is undergoing will not lead to its collapse but will enhance national cohesion among its citizens, considering that the sectarian and religious diversity in Egypt, if put under one framework, will lead to unity and reinforcement of the country’s internal front. His Eminence added that he is optimistic about the coming elections in Iraq and about the persistent unity of the Iraqi society and strength of the internal front despite all the terrorist attacks targeting citizens.
    From his part, Ambassador Darwish expressed his hope that the coming elections will promote stability, security and development in Iraq, highlighting his country’s solidarity with the Iraqi people in its war against terrorism and its endeavors to achieve progress and justice.
