The head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, received Mr. Majed Al Nasrawi, the governor of Basra, in his office in Baghdad on Sunday, March 16, 2014.
The two sides discussed during the meeting many areas that concern the province. His Eminence called on providing the best services to the citizens and invited everyone to promote the province and ensure security, stability and well-being.
From his part, Mr. Al Nasrawi stated that the meeting with Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim tackled the coming elections, the need to select competent and upright elements, as well as the political and security situation prevailing in Basra after the security void resulting from the transfer of security troops into the province of Anbar. The meeting also tackled the issue of the court and its repercussions on the government of Basra, in view of its illegality having exceeded the anticipated period of time.
