Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the importance that the voters make a right, mature and responsible choice of their representatives, while underlining the importance of building the state of the citizen not that of the officials, calling on the voters to punish the defaulters and present the competent candidates by voting on April 30. He also urged them to widely participate in the elections and receive the voting card since it gives access to the participation and is considered one of its prerequisites. Moreover, he renewed his diagnostic of the Iraqi crisis describing it as a management crisis on all security, political and service levels, saying the competent harmonious team who has a well-defined vision and a plan of action that covers all the problems and concerns of the citizens will advance Iraq and end its current crisis, indicating the need for a clear relationship between the political forces with support the country and the citizens. On the other hand, he reiterated the importance of sticking to the instructions of the marjas and complying with the standards they set, explaining that the problem of Iraq does not lie in the lack of capacities, but in how to exploit them.
This came during a meeting on Saturday, March 29, 2014 between his Eminence and a big number of the elites and sheikhs of the tribes of Sadr city in Al Hassanein club (previously the Golan) in Sadr city.
His Eminence maintained that the relation between the politicians and the citizens is like that between the patients and the physicians who must prescribe the treatment for them and not to complain or groan to them, for they must not talk of the problems, yet diagnose them and find the right solutions. He said Al Muwattin Coalition will present an integral platform in all security, political and service files, adding that it is the result of the visions of many researchers and experts who identified the defects and brought the necessary remedies in addition to what the Iraqi citizens asked for in "The Citizen Wants" initiative. Sayyid al-Hakim explained that the big majority of Al Muwattin Coalition's members are independent, competent and honest and have a great history. Moreover, he maintained that the interest of Iraq lies first within this coalition, warning the citizens from any bad choice they will regret later and urging them to be liable for their choice.
His Eminence pointed out to the great history of Sadr City, depicting it as a generous city that has always offered martyrs and noted the importance of learning the lessons of history and not to be detached from the past since it is the step through which one can go toward the future, not to mention the importance of confronting terrorism with modern and effective means.
