Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim stressed the need to take quick steps to form a government in which the main political powers can take part, appreciating the efforts of the international organization in fostering the democratic process in Iraq.
This came during a meeting held between Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, in his office in Baghdad on Monday May 19, 2014, and Mr. Nikolay Mladenov , the UN Special Representative for Iraq.
For his part, the UN Special Representative called on all the Iraqi parties to start planning how to participate positively in shaping the Iraq’s future and adopting the policies that enhance the democratic process, reiterating the support by the international organization of the democratic process in Iraq.
