Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the importance of moving quickly to form a government with strong, harmonious team within a clear program and a well-defined vision, underlining the importance of openness and communication with the political parties.
This came during a meeting between his Eminence on Saturday, May 31, 2014, and the secretary-general of the Iraqi Islamic Party, Mr. Ayad al-Samarrai.
Both sides discussed the developments of the global political scene, the results of the last elections and the government formation mechanism. For his part, Mr. al-Samarrai reiterated the importance of a strong, harmonious team, saying the government must be formed as part of the solution, and not to create a new crisis.
