Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim Congratulates President Talabani on the Founding Anniversary of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan
Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, sent a cable of condolences to his Excellency president of the republic Jalal Talabani on the occasion of the founding anniversary of the PUK, on Sunday, June 1st, 2014.
His eminence commended the historic role and sacrifices of the PUK and called to make more efforts to advance the democratic process in Iraq.

Greetings,
Amidst the celebrations held in the Kurdistan region on the 39th anniversary of the foundation of the PUK, and as we share your celebration, we praise the great sacrifices and patriotic positions of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan throughout years of its history of struggle since its foundation up until this day. As we express our respect and high appreciation of the prestigious status and pivotal role that the PUK has and deserves in the political arena beside its national and Islamic forces, we all feel the need to hold on to the same approach in order to instill our democratic experience and to give our Iraqi people, in all its components, its freedom, dignity and decent place among peoples and nations… I salute you your Excellency, the brothers in the leadership of the Union and all its strugglers.
