Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, said Iraq will remain united in supporting its security forces in their battle against Daesh gangs and the other terrorist organizations, and in overcoming the challenges, praising the positions of the countries which stand by Iraq in its war against terrorism until maintaining security and stability in the region.
This came during a meeting held between his Eminence in his office in Baghdad on Thursday, June 26, 2014, and the Japanese ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Kazuya Nashida.
For his part, the Japanese ambassador declared his government's willingness to cooperate with Iraq in reconstruction and development areas.
Both sides also discussed the security and political situation in Iraq as well as the relations between Iraq and Japan.
