On the Sixth Ramadan Evening Gathering, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim: Indulgence and Overlooking the Spiritual and Moral Problems of the Community Have Great Repercussion Over the Long Term

Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, called to focus on solving the moral and spiritual problems that our community, especially the youth, is suffering from, indicating that these problems represent a significant part of our security, political, social and other crises. His eminence also underlined that a major part of our problems are a result of indulgence regarding moral aspects that have impact on society. His eminence stressed the need to choose leaders who belong to our tribal environment and community, who have no psychological complexes that leave clear marks on their attitude and performance and that are reflected in abuse of power and position to inflict injustice, tyranny and despotism. This came in Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim’s speech delivered at the sixth Ramadan evening gathering held at his eminence’s office in Baghdad on Friday, July 4, 2014.
His eminence warned that the helpers of autocrats are a card that will eventually be thrown away and eliminated by the autocrats, considering that those who assist despots are similar to those who sell their religion for the life of others because they help despots harden their grip on people. His eminence finally highlighted that the path to repentance is a long and difficult one that requires disengagement from all the people who were oppressed, abused or had their possessions or money violated.
