    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Discusses with the EU Ambassador the Situation of the Iraqi Displaced and the Iraqi and Regional Developments

     
    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, discussed in a meeting held in his office in Baghdad on Saturday, July 5, 2014, with the European Union Ambassador to Iraq, Yana Hapaschkava, the developments on the political and regional arena, the situation of the displaced from the provinces of Mosul, Anbar and Saladin and how to provide them with the humanitarian aids, as well as the last political developments, particularly the regional situation.
    His Eminence said that the terrorists will draw back especially after the fatwa issued by the wise Marjas and the great role played by the Iraqi tribes who are working in cooperation and coordination with the Iraqi forces to counter the terrorist groups. Both sides also denounced the policy of displacement, terrorism and assassination adopted by the terrorist gangs of Daesh against the innocent citizens.
    Moreover, they agreed that the events taking place in the provinces of Mosul, Anbar, Saladin and Diyala and the crimes perpetrated by Daesh are international terrorism that constitutes a threat to the whole region and the world.
    For her part, Mrs. Hapaschkava said the EU countries support Iraq and stand by it in bringing relief to the displaced, facing the terrorist organizations and contributing to the democratic transformation worldwide, including in Iraq.
