Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim: The Compliance with the Covenants and Agreements Stimulates Trust, Cohesion and Social Strength

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the importance of complying with the covenants and agreements and observing the obligations in the economic and political matters and in the social relations, explaining that the commitment at the economic level promotes the market stability, while people will trust each other through the social commitment. He added that politically speaking, the compliance with the covenants and agreements stimulates trust, cohesion and social strength, stating that one reason behind the distress in our country is the current lack of trust among the Iraqis, resulting from the non-observance of the covenants and agreements, from the constitution to the political agreements between politicians which created a serious loss of trust that led to a breakup of relations and problems in settling the situation in the country.
This came during the 13th Ramadan evening gathering held at his Eminence's office in Baghdad on Friday, July 11, 2014.
Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim noted that the Palestinian people today faces extreme injustice and oppression, since the children, the women and the elders are being targeted by Israel. According to him, he suggested to the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs to open the border passages leading to Gaza, to lift the siege on it, to convey the aids to its residents and to evacuate the wounded, and the Minister has given his word.  His Eminence said we need to take a true supportive attitude in favor of the unarmed Palestinian people.
Moreover, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim said the mutilation of bodies is forbidden for according to a Hadith of the Prophet (PBUH), "the mutilation is forbidden, even that of a biting dog". He commented that the mutilation of bodies is a Kharijite act practiced by Daesh extremist members and the likes, and is something inhuman and excessive. He made clear that the punishment of the killers should be done in execution of God's judgment and not to delight in their misfortune, adding that the ethics and values we have learnt are those of the Great Prophet (PBUH) and Ahl-al-Bayt (AS).
