Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, said it is important that the Council of Representatives plays its legislative and supervisory role, adding that the Iraqi citizens expect from the current parliament lots of laws that serve their best interest and calling for quickly forming the next government with a clear vision and a harmonious strong team.
This came during a meeting held between his Eminence on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, and the speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mr. Salim al-Jabbouri. 
For his part, al Jabbouri praised the efforts of Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, the Supreme Council and al Muwattin movement in bringing the viewpoints of the political parties together, which resulted in the election of the parliament presidency office.
