Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, said he trusts that President Masum will be the one who will bring together all Iraqis of all components, races and affiliations. This came during a visit made by his Eminence accompanied by a number of the leaders of the Supreme Council to the elected President of the Republic, Dr. Fuad Masum, at his place of residence, in Baghdad, on Friday morning, July 25, 2014, expressing his support for Mr. President who is confronting these sensitive and serious period of the history of our people. He also wished him all the success and congratulated him for the great victory and the big trust the Iraqi people placed in him through his representatives at the Council of Representatives. During the meeting, both sides discussed the security, political and Iraqi situation and the steps to be taken to form the government and the political process in general.
For his part, Dr. Fuad Masum expressed his high appreciation for the visit of his Eminence, affirming that he discussed with the latter the essential issues and the developments of the situation and that he will consider with great care the issues and the opinions put forward during the meeting.
