The head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, met the President of the Republic, Dr. Fouad Masoum in his eminence’s office in Baghdad on Sunday, August 24, 2014.
The two sides discussed the political developments in Iraq and the region and the mechanism to form the government. His eminence stressed the need to benefit from the international, regional and national support in order to form a government capable of meeting the aspirations of Iraqis. He also reiterated the importance of forming it out of a competent, homogeneous and strong team and called on the political blocs to lower their expectations of demands. He finally highlighted the importance of nominating candidates who are characterized with aptitude, leadership and professionalism to run the ministries in the future government.
