Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Calls on the Political Powers to Run Competent and Honest Statesmen for the Ministerial Positions in the Next Government
Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, called on the political powers to run competent and honest statesmen for the functions for which the Iraqi people yearns, saying that their candidacy will accelerate the voting to form the government by the end of the current week. He stressed the importance of a harmonious team, a roadmap and a clear platform to create a wise government, stating that the Iraqis are united against the terrorism which targets all of them regardless their colors and segments. He added that fighting the ISIA is a top priority for the next government, warning against the danger of the ISIS on Iraq, the region and the whole world. Moreover, he called for mobilizing all efforts and supporting Iraq regionally and internationally to counter this danger.
This came in a meeting held between his Eminence at his office in Baghdad on September 1st, 2014 and the head of the National List, Mr. Ayad Allawi and his accompanying delegation from the Iraqi National Movement.
For his part, Mr. Allawi said he agrees with Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim on that it is necessary to look for the harmonious team, the roadmap and the real guarantees of partnership between the main actors in Iraq, praising the role of his Eminence and the patriotic attitudes of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq members. He considered this moment as historical opportunity to advance the nation and lead it to a safe shore, stressing the need that Iraq restores its position as main actor in the international community.
