    During a Visit to the Refugees Camps in Erbil, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim Calls on the Government to Provide More Care to the Displaced and Relieve their Suffering


        Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, called to increase the care provided to the persons who fled from regions hit by terrorist attacks and collective displacement, especially regions inhabited by minorities. This came during his eminence’s visit to the displaced families of Shabak, Christians and Yazidis in churches, convents, schools, camps and temporary residencies in Erbil in the context of his visit to Kurdistan on Monday, September 22, 2014. During his meeting with a large number of displaced, his eminence listened to their needs and problems and promised to seriously seek to relieve their suffering and reinstate them quickly to their regions of residence. Furthermore, his eminence lauded the positive and important role played by the government of Kurdistan in welcoming the displaced and providing them with shelter. He highlighted that the real solution to the problem of the displaced resides in reinstating them quickly to their freed regions, ensuring their protection and providing them with a decent compensation.
