Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, met with the vice-president of Iraq, Mr. Nouri al-Maliki on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the latter's office in Baghdad.   
His Eminence congratulated Mr. al-Maliki for his new position and said he discussed with him the developments of the political and security situation following the formation of the Iraqi government and how to invest the international support for Iraq in countering terrorism.
 
For his part, al-Maliki praised the efforts of Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim in bringing the viewpoints closer and encouraging the Kurdish ministers to attend the meetings of the Council of Ministers.
