During a Visit to Imam Ali (AS) Schools in Najaf al-Ashraf, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Calls for Establishing the Patriotism and for Explaining the Sectarianism, the Nationalism and the Regionalism as Ephemeral Concepts

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the importance of establishing the patriotism and of explaining the sectarianism, the nationalism and the regionalism as ephemeral concepts, considering that the devotion to the country is shown through concepts that make the people proud of their country and make them appreciate it.

This came during a visit by Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim to the Imam Ali (AS) schools in Najaf al-Ashraf on Wednesday, October 15, 2014.

His Eminence also explained that the school administration is different from the administration in other domains, for it's not an administration of a school, but of the education process. For him, the administration is made through the results and the right education building and the success of the school administration is measured by the achievement of the actual goals for which the school was set up. He added that behind every great nation there is successful education and behind every successful education, there is successful and competent teacher, noting that the role of the teacher is essential and pivotal to the education and teaching process.

His Eminence also pointed out to several basic observations and controls to develop the education process in the country, stressing the need to provide and create a scientific specialized education environment, for the superficiality and the incomplete information don't build a complete man and the education programs must be improved in order to provide global and integrated vision throughout the years the students spend at school. On the other hand, he called for spreading the right moral spirit and moral education, for paying particular attention to the teaching methods, for providing thoughtful information and for activating the reflection and the meditation. According to him, the education process must be also compatible with the reality of living of the students, not to mention that the information must have pragmatic value in their life to help them face the challenges of life.

Moreover, his Eminence called for developing the self-confidence, the love for work and the collective work and for building strong personalities, explaining that both parties of the education process are the students and the community. He made clear that as an entity, programs, teaching personnel and education tools, the school is the bridge that connects the students to the community and builds a relation between them and this community, maintaining that the school and the family are the basic pillars of the education cycle.
