    The Defense Minister: Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Briefed Us about the Problems at the Defense Ministry and the Plans to Support the Iraqi Army


        Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, received on Thursday October 23, 2014 in his office in Baghdad the Defense Minister, Mr. Khaled al-Obeidi.
        During the meeting, they discussed the security developments, the restructuring of some of the Iraqi army units and how to take advantage of the international coalition in such a way as to maintain the Iraqi sovereignty. His Eminence stressed the importance of supporting the Iraqi army and ensuring its armament and training because, according to him, the Iraqis are able to drive the terrorism out and liberate their country.
        For his part, al-Obeidi said he listened to Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim's viewpoints concerning the support of the Iraqi army, describing his Eminence as great political leader and praising his political positions that helped bring the different viewpoints of the political parties together. He added that the ministry is in safe hands and that he will make sure the army is restructured and the corruption is fought. He also said that the neglectful will be punished and investigations will be made and will go public so that the people can be well-informed. According to him, there is high coordination with the international coalition to reinforce its role in further supporting the Iraqi security forces.
