Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the importance of integrating roles between the Ministry of Municipalities and local governments in the provinces to provide better services to citizens, calling to make citizen service as a target to all of them and reiterating his call to grant local governments greater powers to implement their plans regarding services.
This came in his Eminence’s meeting with the minister of municipalities Abdel Karim Younes in his office in Baghdad, Thursday, October 23, 2014.

For his part, Younes stated that during his meeting with Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, they discussed the service reality in provinces and the cooperation methods with local governments, pointing out that there are plans to develop the ministry that coincide with his Eminence’s visions regarding services, in addition to an emergency planning to keep away from problems in services during winter and rains.
