Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, called for the formation of a higher committee to aid the displaced, address their problems and take care of them by providing them with the best services pertaining to the adequate housing, food and health care which are worthy of the Iraqi citizen.
This came during a meeting with Christian MP Yonadam Kanna, Head of al-Rafidayn National Coalition in the Iraqi parliament, in his Eminence’s office in Baghdad, on Monday, November 24, 2014.
For his part, MP Kanna appreciated the positions of al-Hakim regarding his interest in the Iraqi children of all components, calling on the government to make the mechanisms used in the relief of the displaced more serious and careful of the existing mechanisms, especially that the winter approaches, pointing out that the displaced people’s conditions in the Iraqi Kurdistan are extremely difficult and the existing camps do not protect them of rain and extreme cold there, as well as the displacement and genocide committed by terrorist gangs an
