    In a Meeting with Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim Affirms the Facilitation of the Entry of Visitors to Holy Shrines between Iraq and Iran

     
    Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, received in his office in Baghdad on Monday, November 24, 2014, the Iranian assistant foreign minister for parliamentary and consular affairs Hassan Kashkawi, and discussed with him bilateral relations between the two countries and the preparations for the Arba’een visit. His eminence stressed in this regard the importance of facilitating the entry of the visitors of the holy shrines between the two countries.
    For his part, Mr. Kashkawi explained that he informed his eminence of the results of his visit to Iraq and his meetings with Iraqi officials. He indicated that a memorandum of understanding was signed between Iraq and the Islamic Republic in the consular areas, describing this as a step forward on the basis of which the entry of visitors of the holy shrines between the two countries will be facilitated. He added that the number of visitors is expected to reach 750,000 visitors from Iran to Iraq for the Arba’een visit. Furthemore, Mr. Kashkawi stated that they had discussed the cooperation between Iraq and Iran in trade and he congratulated his eminence for the victories achieved by the Iraqi army and the popular crowd against ISIS, including the victories of Jurf El Sakhr, Baiji, Amerli and Al Saadiya.
