Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the need to move forward with the e-government project, being the best way to eliminate administrative bureaucracy and financial and administrative corruption. His eminence called in this regard to ratify the law on the national body for informatics and the law on research service, highlighting the citizen bloc’s support in the national assembly and the council of ministers to ratify the significant laws that could promote the work of the ministry of science and technology. His eminence urged the ministry and its staff to open up to and communicate with scientists abroad and to benefit from their expertise, underlining the need to profit from the modern technology in the agricultural field, reduce the salinity rates and increase arable lands. Furthermore, he reiterated his support for the Christian brothers in Iraq and expressed his solidarity with them through their ordeal and what they experienced at the hands of the terrorist ISIS gangs for they are the qualitative addition to the Iraqi community.
This came when his eminence was receiving the minister of science and technology, Fares Jeju in his office in Baghdad on Tuesday, November 25, 2014.
For his part, Mr. Jeju praised the visions of his eminence Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, confirming the alignment of his visions with those of the ministry. He also informed his eminence of the ministry’s most important aspirations for the coming phase and indicated that the meeting tackled the situation of Christians in Iraq and their sufferings at the hand of ISIS gangs.
