Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, praised the holy Najaf and its significant role in advancing humanity and promoting brotherhood among humans, indicating that the holy city of Najaf represents the major start of humanity, as it houses the prophet of Allah, Adam, the father of humans and the prophet Noah (peace be upon them). His eminence explained in the speech he delivered at the event organized by the general secretariat of the council of ministers at the secretariat’s building in collaboration with the ministry of culture, in the occasion of the launching of the book “Najaf, the gate to wisdom” published by UNESCO in Paris, on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, that the Holy Najaf is the starting point of Imam Ali’s (AS) project when he moved the capital of the Islamic Caliphate to Kufa to represent a new era and the start of his human project, which is the kernel of Islamic religion in all its aspects. His eminence insisted that the holy city represents the start of humanity and the end of history, since the greatest reformer will make the city of Kufa the starting point of his message, and that it is the thread that links the beginning and the end and an important stage of humanity. His eminence also thanked UNESCO and the ministry of culture for sponsoring this event, and expressed his hope that the hawza of Najaf will remain a shining beacon, a gate to moderation and a driver for all those who wish well for the country.
