Asserting the Victory over the ISIS, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Stresses the Importance of the Iraqi People’s Unity and Considers It as the Major Responsibility of all Iraqis
Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the importance of the Iraqi people’s unity and cohesion, describing such cohesion as the major responsibility of all Iraqis, while ensuring that the victory over the ISIS will be declared very soon. He also said the terrorism the Iraqis have been suffering united them, explaining that the suffering of Iraq is due to the role and contribution of this country in the humanity movement and in the rise of civilizations, and that terrorism has become the reason that united the Iraqis and is faced by the security forces, the popular crowd, the Peshmerga and the Iraqi tribes. This came during a mass in Baghdad attended by the His Eminence on the occasion of the holy holidays on Wednesday, December 24, 2014.
His Eminence called for turning the pain into hope, as Christ (AS) did, considering the Christians as added value to the Iraqi community. He also confirmed that the displaced people will return to their homes full of dignity and that an alliance of 60 countries is helping Iraq counter the ISIS. Moreover, he remarked that Christ is present through his plan, his good morals and his tolerance for he was the great divine plan, saying the association of the new year with the birth of the great prophet makes the people stick to the heaven and to the messengers’ principles. He also reminded that Christ loved the others and was generous even with those who hurt him, but the ISIS makes no distinction between the people’s components, whether they are Shia, Sunnis, Christians or Yazidis, maintaining that no one has right to compel the others to adopt a doctrine but the ISIS is extremist and has animosity to humanity and life.
