    In a Meeting Held with the Iranian Foreign Minister, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Stresses the Need to Turn Challenges into Opportunities for the Iraqi and Iranian Peoples’ advancement and Development

     
    Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the need to exert further efforts and enhance cooperation between Iraq and the Islamic Republic to turn challenges into opportunities for the advancement and development of the two brotherly countries’ peoples, stressing the need to take advantage of the large capabilities and potentials in both countries to enhance their cooperation in the political, economic and trade fields.
    This came in a meeting held between Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim and the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in the capital Tehran, on Monday, January 5th, 2015.
    For his part, Zarif commended the approach taken by the Iraqi politicians and the new government that aims at promoting national cohesion, developing bilateral cooperation and countering terrorism, the common enemy of both countries. He also sees the Ulemas and Marjas’ conscious and constructive role in consolidating national unity between all Iraqi people, as a source of pride.
     
    The Iranian Foreign Minister also commended the hospitality of the Iraqi people for the Iranian visitors, stating that this will never be erased from memory and is worth commending.
