Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, emphasized the need to institutionalize the national alliance to enhance its pivotal role, calling for preserving the parliamentary institution which is targeted because it is the basis of the political process since the Iraq’s new system is parliamentary.
This came during a common meeting between al-Muwattin and al-Ahrar blocs held on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at his Eminence’s office.
Sayyid al-Hakim also called for developing meetings between the two blocs and turning them into real action, pointing to the importance of passing laws and enforcing the legislations that serve the citizens, urging both blocs to lay out a roadmap to legislate the important laws, encouraging both blocs as well as the members of the blocs within the parliamentary committees to keep holding meetings, underlining the importance of complementary work between al Muwattin and al Ahrar and the rest of the blocs to better serve the country and the citizens.
