The Defense Minister Pays Tribute to Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim’s Visions and Directions, Confirming that His Eminence’s support Plays a Key Role in the Success of the Military Institution
Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, received in his office in Baghdad, the Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi, on Wednesday February 28th, 2015.
His Eminence declared that he discussed with al-Obeidi, the role of the ministry in Baghdad in rebuilding, equipping and training the Iraqi army, as well as developing security plans to end terrorism and ISIL, stressing that there are visions to address all the problems, calling for the distribution of roles between the army, the police and the other security forces that operate within the framework of the state, stating that the army is the prestige of the people and the state.
For his part, al-Obeidi stressed the importance of Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim’s directions and accuracy in describing the security establishment needs, noting that al-Hakim’s support plays a key role in the success of the military institution. He also paid tribute to the vision of His Eminence, stressing that large areas of Diyala were liberated, and the war against the ISIL continues, adding that the security forces will launch a major operation in Salaheddine region, the clan support continues, and there is also follow-up for all regions, including al-Anbar and the military leadership of al-Anbar, al-Badiya and al-Jazeera, stressing that the Ministry of Defense salaries were delayed because of the inventory and they will be paid in the next week.
