    During His Meeting with Torhan Al Mufti, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim Stresses the Need for Turkmen to Have One Position Regarding the Iraqi Issues and the Rights of the Turkmen Population


        The head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, stressed the need for Iraqi Turkmens to have one position regarding the national Iraqi issues and the rights and aspirations of the Turkmen population, highlighting the role of Turkmens and their national forces in achieving national reconciliation.
    This came when Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim was receiving Dr. Torhan Al Mufti, Special Advisor to the Iraqi President and head of the Turkmen People's Party, with a number of party leaders, in his eminence’s office in Baghdad on Tuesday, February 10, 2015.
        During the meeting, the attendees discussed the relations between the Supreme Council and the Turkmen People's Party, as well as the suffering of Turkmens in their region as a result of the criminal ISIS terrorism. The meeting also tackled the situation of refugees, underlined the need to assist them and eliminate the challenges they face, and discussed the ways of ensuring a safe return for them after their cities and villages are purified from the ISIS gangs.
