    During His Meeting with Turkish Ambassador, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim: The Security and Stability of Iraq Can Extend to the Entire Region

     
    Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the importance of strengthening relations between Iraq and Turkey including in the area of fight against terrorism. His eminence insisted that the stability and unity of Iraq can spread security and stability in the entire region, highlighting the need for Turkish companies to contribute to the reconstruction and building of Iraq.
    This came when Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim was receiving the Turkish ambassador to Iraq, His Excellency Faruk Kaymakcı, at his office in Baghdad, on Thursday, February 19, 2015.
    For his part, the Turkish ambassador confirmed his government’s eagerness to maintain the unity of Iraq, as well as the stability of the political and security stability, and to support the political and democratic process in Iraq. He indicated that the Turkish companies will soon resume their work in the country especially in the province of Basra, and he mentioned his country’s determination to activate its consulate in the province once the security situation become stable there. His Excellency added that Turkey is seeking to open affiliated consulates in Kirkuk and holy Najaf, and finally pointed out that his country is providing assistance and support to Iraq displaced families, including the provision of caravans and essential items by the Turkish Red Crescent.
