    During a Meeting with Baghdad’s Cultural Council, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Said the Intellectuals Must Play their Role in the Unity of the Iraqi Land and People


        Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, said the Iraqi intellectuals must play their role in spreading the culture of the unity of the Iraqi land and people, explaining that the culture represents a source of power for the Iraqi society, calling to legislate the laws that contribute to the promotion of the culture and the elimination of obstacles the Iraqi intellectuals are facing.
    This came during a meeting between his Eminence and the members of Baghdad’s Cultural Council at his office in Baghdad on Thursday, 19/2/2015.
        For his part, the members said they discussed with Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim the situation of the Iraqi culture and how to advance it and eliminate the obstacles including those of publishing, distribution and exportation of the Iraqi books and lift the restrictions thereon by abolishing the decision of the notorious revolutionary command council which tie up the books and the Iraqi writers.
