Austin to Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim: We Have no Contacts with ISIS and There Is No Other Solution but to Destroy Them
Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, received on Sunday, 22/2/2015 at his office in Baghdad, the commander of the US Central Command, General Lloyd Austin and the accompanying delegation composed of the deputy assistant Secretary of State, Mr. McGurk, and the US ambassador to Baghdad, Mr. Stuart Jones. His Eminence stressed the importance of uniting the efforts to do away with the terrorist ISIS gangs, and said the United States must play a more effective role in exterminating terrorism, asking for justifications for the media releases claiming that the United States throws aids from aircrafts on areas controlled by ISIS.
His Eminence discussed with Mr. Austin the security situation in the region and the events in Libya, Yemen and Bahrain.
For his part, Mr. Austin denied any contact between the US forces and ISIS or any aids delivered by the US aircrafts to ISIS, saying there is no other solution but to destroy with ISIS.
