Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the important role of the religious endowments in uniting and reinforcing the solidarity between the Iraqi people of all components, expressing his support for the projects and ideas that promote the national unity and reject terrorism and extremism.
This came during a meeting held between his Eminence at his office in Baghdad on 19/3/2015 and the Sunni Endowment chief, Dr. Mahmoud Sumaidaie.
    For his part, the latter said the takfiri ISIS doesn’t only constitute a danger to Iraq, but also a threat to the entire region and the world, calling for further synergy and for uniting the Iraqis against terrorism and countering this extremist organization, praising the pivotal, positive role of Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim in bringing together the Iraqi national parties and creating rapprochement between the different viewpoints in the service of the higher national interest of the country.
