    Receiving the Delegation from the Organization of Islamic Conference, Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim Calls to Form a Regional Front to Eliminate Extremism and Enhance Security in the Region


        Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, reiterated his call to all the good people willing to support Iraq to form a broad regional front to eliminate extremist thought and behavior, so as to enhance security and stability in the region. His eminence called upon the Organization of Islamic Conference to support Iraq in the war that Iraqis are fighting in defense of themselves and on behalf of the states of the region and the world. He explained that the supreme religious authority’s fatwa on sufficiency jihad calls to free all Iraqi territories, not specific areas, insisting that residents of the freed regions ought to return to reconstruct and defend their land.
    This came when Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim received the representative of OIC’s secretary general and director of political affairs Al Habib Kaabashi and the accompanying delegation in his eminence’s office in Baghdad, on Tuesday, 24/3/2015.
        For his part, the secretary general’s representative expressed his pleasure for meeting with Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim and listening to his opinions and reassurances regarding the triumphs achieved by Iraq against the terrorist ISIS. He assured that the Organization supports Iraq in its fight against terrorism and will provide political and economic support, as well as assistance to the displaced and to the reconstruction of the country’s political institutions and infrastructure as soon as terrorism is eradicated very soon. Mr. Kaabashi also expressed the Organization’s pride of Iraq for being a founding state and praised the unity and cohesion of all Iraqi components.
        It should be mentioned that the delegation accompanying the representative of the OIC’s secretary general included Mr. Hamed Al Tanni, the Organization’s ambassador to Baghdad.
