Sayyid Al-Hakeem Affirms French Role Importance to Enhance Regional Security, Stability
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received the Ambassador of the French Republic to Iraq, H.E. Patrick Durel, where both sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the means of developing them in ways that serve mutual interests and preserve Iraq's sovereignty.
H.E. affirmed the importance of the role played by a country of France's stature with regard to Iraq and regional security, stressing the necessity for world nations to take the initiative in preventing escalation and working to resolve issues through dialogue, mutual understanding, and respect for the specificities of each country.
On Iraqi affairs, H.E. noted that the current phase requires support for the government of Ali Al-Zaidi, explaining that the most defining feature of the government's work aligns with the most pressing challenge facing Iraq — namely the economic and financial dimension — and affirming the importance of diversifying sources of income and Iraq's oil export outlets.
H.E. also expressed His hope that the outcomes of negotiations between Iran and the United States of America will lead to an agreement that contributes to halting escalation and restoring stability to the region, noting that any disruption in this region reflects negatively on the world economically and politically, as previous experiences have demonstrated.
