Sayyid Al-Hakeem Stresses Media’s Role to Promote Stability, Supporting Democratic Process

Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with members of the Media Committee representing parties within the Coordination Framework, in the presence of Secretary Abbas Al-Amiri. The meeting underscored the vital role of media at this pivotal stage in Iraq’s history.
H.E. emphasized that media is a cornerstone in reinforcing positive narratives and countering systematic smear campaigns targeting Iraq’s political system and democratic experience. H.E. called for unified media efforts and consistent messaging to develop a shared vision on critical national issues.
H.E. also stressed the importance of raising public awareness about the upcoming elections and their key role in strengthening political and security stability, noting that high voter turnout would enhance Iraq’s standing and the credibility of its political system on the global stage.
H.E. urged media professionals to highlight the stability achieved and improvements in service delivery, showcasing tangible progress on the ground, and to harness social media platforms to convey this reality to public opinion.
H.E. reaffirmed support for Iraq’s security and military institutions, as well as judicial, legislative, and executive bodies, stressing the need to commend officials who have delivered genuine accomplishments regardless of their affiliations. This, H.E. said, would encourage other officials to strive for excellence.
In conclusion, H.E. called for prioritizing youth in media discourse, ensuring they are supported and shielded from extremist and harmful ideologies, emphasizing that investing in young people’s potential is the most valuable investment in Iraq’s future.
