Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets Muthanna Al-Samarrai, Discusses Political and Security Developments, Electoral Entitlements
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, met on Friday evening, January 23, 2026, in His office in Baghdad with the Head of Azm Alliance, Mr. Muthanna Al-Samarrai, and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting featured an exchange of views on recent political and security developments in the country, as well as the completion of electoral entitlements in light of the current challenges facing the region.
His Eminence stressed the importance of preserving the achieved stability at the security, political, and social levels, noting that Iraq is approaching a phase of sustainable stability, which requires the participation of all national powers and their commitment to supporting the national path and strengthening confidence in state institutions.
H.E. also called for maintaining security, military, and intelligence readiness to confront the challenges surrounding Iraq in the aftermath of recent events, emphasizing the need for unity in national stance and discourse, rejection of extremism, and prioritizing dialogue and understanding in a manner that serves the country’s supreme interests.
