Sayyid Al-Hakeem Affirms to Expedite Government Formation, Empower Local Government Authority with Basrah Governor
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, met this evening with Basra Governor Mr. Asaad Al-Eidani, where they discussed a range of important issues.
The meeting reviewed the state of public services in Basra Governorate, alongside the latest developments shaping the political scene in Iraq and the wider region.
His Eminence underscored the importance of preserving the gains that have been achieved and urged all parties to move decisively toward resolving constitutional entitlements and finalizing the formation of the next government at the earliest opportunity.
H.E. also highlighted the need to strengthen local governments by enabling them to fully exercise their authorities and obtain their constitutionally and legally guaranteed rights, noting that they operate on the front lines of engagement with citizens, which necessitates granting them powers commensurate with their responsibilities.
