Sayyid Al-Hakeem Stresses Entitlements, Full Authority Government Formation, Enhance Dialogue for Iraq, Region Stability with Bafel Talabani
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Mr. Bafel Talabani, at his office this morning, where discussions focused on the evolving political developments in Iraq and the region.
H.E. underscored the importance of settling constitutional entitlements and moving forward with forming the government within the designated timeframes, stressing the need to place national interests above all else. H.E. pointed out that Iraq is situated in a turbulent region marked by instability, which makes it essential to establish a fully empowered government capable of addressing economic, political, and financial challenges.
H.E. also emphasized the necessity of resolving the outstanding issues between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, reaffirming commitment to the Constitution, which stipulates that Iraq must not be used as a base, hub, or passage for threatening neighboring countries.
H.E. further stressed the urgency of restoring stability in the region, highlighting dialogue as the key path to avoiding further escalation—an outcome that benefits no party, as past experiences have clearly shown.
