Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets Soyana Bloc Delegation, Affirms Component Rights Protection, Christian Representation, Returnees Encouragement
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received at his office a delegation from the Soyana parliamentary bloc, representing the esteemed Christian component. The meeting covered developments in the political landscape in Iraq and the region, the situation of Iraq's components, and ways to protect their rights and guarantee their representation in both the executive and legislative authorities, with emphasis on the importance of unity among these components and the consolidation of their ranks.
H.E. renewed his support for the call to establish a dedicated voter registry for Iraq's components to safeguard their rights, affirming the importance of preserving Christian representation in the next government as a message of reassurance to members of this component both inside Iraq and abroad.
H.E. also stressed the importance of creating the right conditions to encourage the voluntary return of Christian emigrants, noting that Christians are an original and deeply rooted part of Iraq's social fabric — one whose value is not measured by numbers, but by the depth of their influence and their contribution to society's cultural and civilizational richness.
