Sayyid Al-Hakeem Affirms Commitment to Constitutional Timelines, to Form Competencies Government to Meet Economic Challenges to Al-Zaidi
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received at his office in Baghdad Prime Minister-designate Mr. Ali Al-Zaidi. The meeting addressed developments in the file of government formation, with H.E. stressing the necessity of adhering to constitutional timelines and affirming the importance of forming a government of competent individuals capable of managing state institutions during this sensitive phase of Iraq's history.
H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem affirmed the necessity of prioritization, noting that the priorities of this phase lie in confronting the economic crisis and financial strain, and calling for the immediate diversification of Iraqi oil export outlets, as well as the diversification of income sources through the activation of productive sectors encompassing industry, agriculture, tourism, investment, and modern technology, and liberation from the administrative bureaucracy impeding the development of these sectors.
On the external front, H.E. called for a warming of relations with the countries of the region and the world through the establishment of relations and partnerships across various sectors in a manner that serves the interests of all parties and preserves the country's sovereignty, affirming the importance of Iraq's openness to all and the investment of international and regional support in forming a service-oriented government that fulfills the aspirations of the Iraqi people.
H.E. clarified the importance of complementarity with the remaining legislative and judicial authorities, as well as supporting local governments, granting them their constitutional and legal powers, and enabling them to deliver services to their constituents, as they represent the first line of contact between citizens and state institutions.
